I visited the Isle of Wight so that I could spend time away from the chaos of South-East London and just relax with my mum, auntie and my two cousins. We all stayed in a sort of stationary motor home within a camping complex. It was a tight squeeze, but we managed! We were within walking distance from St.Helens beach, which I visited a couple of times. There is not much to do in the Isle of Wight, which is exactly what I needed at the time as the pressures of life and relationships were feeling all too apparent at this moment in time.
I find taking pictures very therapeutic. Looking around me in detail and walking go hand in hand with taking photos, both of which come naturally to me. One reason I take photographs is to remember journeys I have been on and the fond memories that are cued from them. Another reason is that I simply like to capture things which look beautiful to me, I want to remember all the beautiful things I see and the easiest way to do this is to capture a still section of the most beautiful.
I am very lucky to have a supportive, knowledgeable and understanding mother (and family) who don't mind me stopping and analysing my surroundings as, if I didn't then I'm not sure I would be so creative today and I certainly would not have the expansive general knowledge or common sense that I have. This fact I am very grateful for. My nearest and dearest (including my best friend) remind me of my talents and congratulate me on my accomplishments. They tell me that my photographs are amazing and point out their favourites, even when I do not feel myself that they are up to standard. This I am overtly thankful for, they keep me believing in myself.
Anyway... below I have captured some of my surroundings whilst in the Isle of Wight, they were taken over a 4 day period so some images have better light sources than others, some are quite dull but still lovely.
